Flash flood warning issued for Yuma Counties

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning for the Northwestern Yuma County until 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

The alert was issued at 3:08 p.m. when a Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.

NWS said up to one inch of rain has already fallen, and flash flooding is expected shortly.

Those driving are encouraged to turn around, and don’t encounter flooded roads.

NWS said most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
