Yuma County Library events week of September 2-9

Can you name the one item that gives you access to information, entertainment, and lifelong learning?

It’s your Library Card! Celebrated throughout the month of September, Library Card Sign-up Month encourages people to get a library card and check out what’s new at their library.

Finding books, movies, music, magazines and more just got easier! Download the new YCLD app from the Google Play or App Store.

This September, “Show Your Card” at local businesses and receive a discount! For a complete list of participating businesses, visit your nearest library.

On Friday, September 6th , teens are invited to the Heritage Library at 3:30 p.m. for an Online Scavenger Hunt. Be the first to complete a scavenger hunt using the library’s digital resources and win a prize! (Ages 13-17) There is no charge to participate.

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing! Participants begin writing on November 1st . The goal is to write a 50,000-word (approximately 175 page) novel by 11:59:59, November 30th .

Get a head start at the Main Library! Aspiring authors are invited to attend “So You Want to Write?” a series of writing workshops led by local writers Christine Howard and Melissa Stevens Saturdays in September from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Workshops will be held in the second floor classroom. There is no charge to attend.
