Somerton man accused of performing sexual battery on 6-year-old girl
UPDATE
According to a press release from San Pasqual School District ( SPSD ), the mother of the student reported that her child had been a victim of inappropriate touching from a school employee.
The mother was able to provide basic information, but was not able to identify the employee in question. The district immediately notified law enforcement officials who responded promptly and initiated an investigation.
SPSD reported the employee is a district custodian, and is being help at Imperial County Jail on lewd acts against a minor child.
ORIGINAL STORY
The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office ( ICSO ) arrested a man for allegedly performing sexual battery on a six-year-old female student, Thursday.
ICSO said deputies responded to the San Pasqual Elementary School in Winterhaven , Calif., in reference to a report of a past occurred sexual battery on a child.
Deputies said the investigation was initiated and led to the arrest of the suspect, a 43-year-old man from Somerton , Ariz. The suspect was employed by the San Pasqual School District.
Deputies said the suspect was booked into Imperial County Jail for allegations of lewd acts against a minor under 14 by force or fear. The suspect’s bail is set at $150,000.
The case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
