ICSO arrest man for online threats planned against IVC

Deputies arrested a 21-year-old on Wednesday after allegedly making online threats to harm Imperial Valley School ( IVC ) students and staff.

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office ( ICSO ) said they believe the suspect sent text messages containing photos of the campus and several firearms. An immediate search for the suspect was conducted by deputies and Sheriff’s Investigators at IVC in the city of El Centro, Calif.

ICSO said the suspected was subsequently located in the City of El Centro and was placed under arrest for making criminal threats. The suspect was not found with firearms in his possession at the time of his arrest.

The suspect was booked at Imperial County Jail where he is being held on a $100,000 bail.

According to ICSO , the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution, additional investigative follow up will be conducted by Sheriff’s Office Investigators.
