“Popsicles and Pages” promotes reading during the summer

Brawley Elementary School District Trustee, Gil Rebollar , is on a mission to make sure students don’t forget to read while on their summer break.

For the past month, Rebollar has been giving out books and popsicles out at his ” Popsicle and Pages ” event at a water park in Brawley.

Rebollar hopes events like these can bring the community together.

Rebollar said, ” These little shows of letting our community know that we’re here to listen. We’re here to give back. And we’re here to acknowledge that. And so just the engagement the willingness to take a book, take a popsicle has been a great response. ”

Anyone who can donate books or school supplies to help the ” Popsicles and Pages ” event can contact Rebollar through social media or drop them off at Brownie’s Diner in Brawley.
