Three shootings reported in El Golfo and San Luis, Mexico

Three shootings unfolded Tuesday evening that left two dead and one injured in the Mexican cities of San Luis Rio Colorado and El Golfo de Santa Clara.

La Tribuna de San Luis reported the first shooting happened at 7:10 p.m. at Tlaxcala Avenue and 26th Street after reports of shots fired.

Several Mexican law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and confirmed at least six gunshots were fired with a high-caliber firearm.

La Tribuna said one victim is in serious condition after suffering from several gunshot wounds and is currently at a local hospital.

Police have not yet provided a description of any suspect(s) or a possible motive.

The second shooting was reported at the city of El Golfo de Santa Clara where witnesses told La Tribuna they heard what sounded like high caliber weapons firing off in the area of Juarez Avenue between 4th and 5th Street.

Later that night, authorities in El Golfo de Santa Clara responded to a shooting at 10 p.m. La Tribuna reported two deaths and several others were injured. M embers of several Mexican law enforcement agencies in the city, state, and military level were caught between gunfire with an armed group.
