Severe Weather Alert: La Paz, Yuma counties flash flood alert

The grouping of thunderstorm cells strengthened to severe levels, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm warning Wednesday afternoon in La Paz county. That warning expired at 2:30 p.m. however, t he storm cells are capable of damaging winds up to 60 MPH and pea size hail.

The storms are also moving north at 15 MPH and are roughly 30 miles south of Parker.

The heavy rain associated with the storms has also prompted the National Weather Service to enact a flash flood warning in Southern La Paz County, in the area of Quartzsite and North Central Yuma counties; which look to expire at around 5:45 p.m.
