Calexico police led on high speed pursuit

A driver lead officers on a high speed pursuit in Calexico on Friday after refusing to stop during a traffic stop.

Calexico Police Officer Association posted on Facebook that the traffic enforcement stop began in Calexico and ended near the Gordon Wells sand dunes.

After the man led officers on the pursuit he eventually stopped and surrendered. Highway Patrol assisted in the apprehension.

Calexico police say the driver was taken into custody for fleeing and driving under the influence.
