Suspect arrested in connection to shooting near Estrellita Meat Market

A suspect linked to the shooting that happened near Estrellita Meat Market on July 19 was arrested by police early Tuesday morning.

According to the Yuma Police Department ( YPD ), the suspect was arrested at the 1800 block of South Walnut Avenue without incident.

The suspect faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of carrying weapon-commission Felony Crime.

On July 19, police said a 31-year-old man was shot and transported to the hospital. He was later flown to a Phoenix-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

YPD said the shooting happened early Friday morning at the 2100 Block of South 5th Avenue.
