Summer heat precautions in Yuma
It might seem like common sense not to leave your child or loving pet in a car during these hot temperatures, but sadly just this week, Yuma Police officers responded to two incidents involving dogs being left inside cars.
” The dog is going to die or cat or whatever type of pet you have in there and it will not take very long in this heat, ” said Sgt. Lori Franklin with the Yuma Police Department.
Those that leave their pets or even vulnerable human-beings inside cars could face animal or child abuse charges.
” They have to be enough in distress, you have had to call us and you have to stay and wait for the officer to arrive at the scene, ” said Sgt. Franklin.
