Local church: Mass deportation emergency plan

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have begun to arrest and deport thousands of families with court-ordered removals in major cities.

Although Yuma County is not in that list of major cities, this nation-wide immigration crackdown has loomed religious leaders across the country including in San Luis, Arizona.

“These mass deportation threats are alarming, this should not be taken lightly this is strong news. It’s a worry for these migrant families,” said Father Manuel Castro, a local church in San Luis, Arizona.

20 arrest has been made in San Diego since the operation was announced over the weekend, according to the Arizona Republic.
