Pet Talk: Meet Miklo and Marie
Meet Miklo , a masculine mutt, with a mix of terrier and pit bull.
His terrier instincts proving strong as he ran around the yard, digging at the grass and jumping high in the air to catch toys thrown to him…
Which I might add, he loved toys with squeakers.
Miklo , weighing in at about 60 pounds proved the strong qualities of his pit mix as he walked to the play yard.
Because of his strength and size, Miklo would best fit into a family with older kids that love to play tug of war.
At the rambunctious age of two years old, Miklo has a lot of potential to live out his life getting the back scratches he so deserves.
American Pit Bull Terriers are devoted and loyal to their family
These dogs are extremely intelligent and learn commands and tricks with ease.
They have a zest for life and love to be involved in everything going on around them.
They maintain a puppyish demeanor well into adulthood, and that vitality makes them a joy to live with.
And this is Marie, a 3-year-old black and white kitty who loves to nuzzle up for scratches and loves to show off her purr.

Both pets are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Yuma.
Miklo will also be available to take out for the dog’s day out program, allowing you to see how he does in a social setting.
Because Miklo has been at the shelter for more than 30 days, he is eligible for 50% off his adoption fee as part of the lonely hearts campaign.
There are also many kittens and cats still available for the foster to adopt program in this busy kitten season.
The shelter is now open seven days per week.
Their hours are:
Monday – Friday : 10 A.M. – 6 P.M.
Saturday’s: 10 A.M. – 5 P.M.
Sunday’s: 12 P.M. – 4 P.M.
Please also remember that this Thursday on the 4th of July, Resist the urge to take your pet to fireworks displays.
Keep your pets indoors at home in a sheltered, quiet area.
Do not leave your pet in the car. With only hot air to breathe inside a car, your pet can suffer serious health effects–even death–in a few short minutes.
If you know that your pet is seriously distressed by loud noises like thunder, consult with your veterinarian before July 4th for ways to help alleviate the fear and anxiety he or she will experience during fireworks displays.
Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags so that if they do become lost, they can be returned promptly.
Animals found running at-large should be taken to the local animal shelter, where they will have the best chance of being reunited with their owners.
