MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY)-Mexicali continues to be on red alert, but that didn't stop the government from reopening gyms in Mexicali partially.

Last week, Mexicali reopened more than 500 restaurants as long as they complied with the proper hygiene and safety certification established by the health sector.

In Mexicali, there are more than 35 gyms that reopened Wednesday morning with sanitation protocols and new cleaning regulations for users.

The Mexicali government says other gym owners can reopen as long as they obtain certification and comply with these measures so that they can open safely.

The Mexicali economy is expected to restore little by little and planned to return to a new normal since the pandemic is likely to continue until next year.
