Yuma cases reach 1,078 countywide
Over 10,000 residents now tested
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The number of coronavirus cases in Yuma County increased by 59 Sunday, bringing the countywide total to 1,137.
The Yuma County Health District (YCHD) confirms no additional deaths, keeping the death toll at 16. Health officials are not releasing further information on past deaths, nor are they releasing information on the latest cases.
The county also sees an increase of one hospitalization, now at 63.
On Saturday, YRMC reported it currently has 62 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, 16 of which are in the facility's 24-bed ICU. However not all these numbers pertain to Yuma County residents. YRMC also says 10 ventilators out of 36 are in use.
The critical 65 and older category grew by six cases in one day, now at 168 cases total. The category under 20 years-old grew by 10 for a second day in a row.
Currently over 10,000 residents have been screened.
