Cesar Chavez’s grandson to present documentary at AWC

Eduardo Chavez, the grandson of civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, will visit Arizona Western College next week for a screening of his documentary, “Hailing Cesar.”

Yuma-born Cesar Chavez died in San Luis in 1993. He changed the lives of countless labor workers and immigrants in our region, and across the country.

The documentary follows Eduardo’s personal journey to connect with his grandfather’s legacy. The film also dives into issues still important today — human rights, immigration, personal identity, and social justice.

The screening is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22 at 3 p.m. in the AWC Schoening Conference Center. Students and the public are invited to attend.
