Imperial County cases rise to 1,274

Now more recoveries than active cases

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial County is now reporting over half of all cases have now recovered

There are currently 622 active cases in the county and 629 recoveries. The death-toll remains at 23.

The Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) now reports 38 new cases Monday, bringing the county wide total to 1,274.

Over 8,200 individuals have now been tested.

Imperial County reports 91 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) Monday, bringing the total of cases to 1,236.

The county saw its largest-ever spike in cases last Thursday — with 91. Today the county sees an increase of the same scale.

Imperial County health officials report no additional deaths as result of the virus for Monday, keeping the countywide death toll at 23.

The bulk of the county's deaths are attributed to the 70-and-older category, now with 17 of the county's total deaths. Still, the 20-49 age range-makes up most of the county's total cases. Read the breakdown by age below.

According to the county, 42 percent of all cases have now recovered, and over 55 percent are currently active.

So far, Imperial County reports it has tested over 8,100 individuals
