Imperial County cases reach 800

Cases up 14 over the weekend

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) confirms 14 new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

This brings the countywide total to 800. The death toll remains at 15. According to ICPHD, 13 of these deaths were over 70 years old.

So far the county reports 332 recoveries, making up about 41 percent of all reported cases. 453 cases are currently active.

According to ICPHD, only 10 percent of patients are currently hospitalized. Of those, 3.5 percent are in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Out of 63 ventilators available, 35 are currently in use, reports ICPHD
