Another Yuma Prison inmate positive for coronavirus
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Another inmate from the Yuma Prison Complex tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases inside the facility to 35.
Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) posted the update on its website Friday evening. The site also shows an additional five inmates have been tested for the virus. So far, ADCRR has screened 138 inmates inside the Yuma Complex.
Nine inmates are still awaiting test results. 94 have tested negative.
News 11 confirmed Thursday, two prison workers had tested positive for the virus. That includes a kitchen worker from the Cibola Unit. That unit houses most of the infected inmates.

Sources inside the prison who wish to remain anonymous told News 11, as of Friday, the Cheyenne Unit has also been placed on lockdown because of the virus.
The same sources tell us, some inmates refused to return to their cells from the complex's recreation yard because they're afraid of becoming infected. Prison officials have released no details on that incident.
News 11 has reached out to the ADCRR for comment, but has yet to receive a response.
