City of El Centro urges businesses to check governor’s list before re-opening

el centro

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro is advising business owners and management teams to review guidance provided by the State of California before they make plans to re-open.

Under Governor Gavin Newsom's order, only businesses that provide "Essential Critical Infrastructure Sector" services are allowed to be open. Businesses must meet at least one of 13 criteria to qualify. For a list of the criteria click here.

City leaders say some businesses clearly qualify as essential. For others, it may not be so clear. That's they urging people to check the list.

City staff is available to answer business owners' questions about both re-opening and restrictions. Call (760) 337-4037 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
