IV Food Bank sees an influx in families
IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-The Imperial Valley Food Bank (IVF) sees an increase in families seeking their services during this pandemic.
The non-profit organization has seen such a high demand that they switched Monday's food distribution to the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds in Imperial.
The fairgrounds parking lot is bigger than their facility and is able to accommodate hundreds of families picking up food.
According to the food bank, they served over 300 families Monday evening.
"We are seeing a lot of families, a lot of the cars today had multiple families," said Sara Griffin, executive director at Imperial Valley Foodbank.
