Florida woman charged with threatening Trump

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - A Florida woman is being held without bond after posting a message threatening to shoot President Donald Trump during a campaign event, according to the Volusia Sheriff's Office.

The suspect in the case has been identified by officials as 21-year-old Allison Albro. She was taken into custody Thursday night after posting the threat online.

Albro allegedly told investigators that she was only joking, and that she would never hurt anyone and that she did even own or have access to a gun.

The judge, during initial court hearing Friday, ruled that she be held without bond since the facts of the charge show the threat was against the president a day before he was due to be in town.

President Trump was expected to hold a midterm rally in Daytona Beach, Florida Friday night.
