Nick Mansour focuses on education funding and job growth in Arizona treasurer’s race

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA) - Democrat Nick Mansour is running for Arizona State Treasurer, saying he wants to make better use of state investments and create more opportunities for Arizona communities.

Mansour said one of his biggest priorities is the state's $11 billion education fund.

He believes the money could be growing faster with better investments and says the state has missed out on billions in potential earnings over the past 13 years.

Bringing more businesses and jobs to Arizona is another priority of his, particularly in rural areas like Yuma.

He said his experience running a company for 14 years has given him the background to help attract new opportunities to the state.

If elected, Mansour said he wants to make the Treasurer's Office more transparent and keep partisan politics out of its work.

He faces Republican Elijah Norton in the November 3 election.
