Arrest made in Atlanta ICE building arson attempt

ATLANTA (NBC, KYMA) - Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with an arson attempt on the ICE building in Atlanta Tuesday night.

31-year-old Inique Hinton of Douglasville was arrested Friday, according to the U.S. Attorney in Atlanta, Theofore Hertzberg.

Hinton has been charged with damaging a building by use of fire or explosives and damaging government property.

According to authorities, Hinton walked by the ICE building on October 20th and tried to start a fire using an incendiary device.

He ignited the item and threw it, hitting a fence and starting a fire.

Hertzberg said the individual was caught on camera and authorities tried to pursue him at the time but were unsuccessful.

Hinton was arrested around 6 p.m. at a residence in Cobb County.

Hertzberg Friday praised law enforcement divisions for their speed at identifying the suspect.
