Massive hailstones cause damages in Phoenix

PHOENIX (CBS, KYMA) - Hail pounded the Phoenix metropolitan area Wednesday as a severe thunderstorm rolled through the Arizona city.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for western portions of the Phoenix metro area, forecasting wind gusts up to 60 mph and golf ball-sized hail.

Footage from Kevin Fiero shows hail pelting his backyard.

"Hail no!! Five broken skylights. Three of them broken down to the ceiling. One shattered window. 90 percent of my plastic and ceramic pots in my backyard shattered," Fiero wrote to Facebook. "Mother Nature showed who was in charge today."
