Sixth Annual Día de los Muertos happening this weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area (YCNHA) is hosting the Sixth Annual Día de los Muertos event this weekend.

YCNHA said the annual event is taking place at the Colorado River State Historic Park Saturday, October 24, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

During the event, attendees will honor loved ones and "experience the beauty of Mexican culture and traditions through music, dance, art, and entertainment," YCNHA said.

There will also be live performances from the Gadsden Elementary School Mariachi Band, Chicano Ink Cultural Center, Glam Dance Studio and the Chavez Family Band, with Amor Prohibido, A Tribute to Selena, serving as the headlining band.

"We look forward to welcoming the community back for another incredible evening celebrating culture, traditions, and the memories of those who are no longer with us. Día de los Muertos continues to be a special event that brings people together while honoring the traditions that make our community so unique," Event Coordinator Ana Godinez said.
