Nathan Fielder documentary ‘You Can See Everything’ generates buzz

LOS ANGELES (CBS, KYMA) - Lots of buzz is surrounding the latest Nathan Fielder documentary "You Can See Everything."

The film follows the final days of Elizabeth Holmes before the disgraced CEO of Theranos went to prison for an 11-year sentence.

The film begins with an invitation by Holmes to Fielder to join her and her partner, Billy Evans, in their home just 34 days before she reported to prison.

The audience is introduced to Holmes as unapologetic, a woman who is infamous for lying, but tells Fielder she's never done so.

When asked what the documentary reveal about Holmes that the world doesn't already know, Erik Davis with Rotten Tomatoes said, "One of the things that I thought was really interesting that you don't necessarily get from the news stories as the Elizabeth Holmes sort of situation was playing out was that, she is a mom. She has two kids. It was all hitting her that she's going to jail in the next day or in the week."

Critics are praising the film. The Los Angeles Times called Fielder "a thrillingly cringe-tastic interviewer, he blurts out blunt questions like a bungee jumper leaping off a bridge," and Rolling Stone said, "It's hard to imagine anything more twisty, turn-y and totally gobsmacking that's been unleashed on audiences in recent memory.

This season, theatergoers are seeing movies and documentaries about Holmes, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman and Elon Musk.

This led CBS News reporter Jo Ling Kent to ask Davis why audiences are seeing films about tech billionaires and executives, as well as their success stories and failures, Davis said, "Because technology has become impossible to separate from everyday life...Each of these films, they all approach the subject differently, but they reflect a shared curiosity about power, about personality, about accountability."

The filmmakers, Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, deliver twists and turns like you would never expect, delivering insight into Holmes' life like as you've never seen before.
