AgTech formally appeals land lease cancellation

KYMA

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA) - The ongoing legal battle between AgTech LLC and the Arizona State Land Department took another turn late Friday afternoon.

The company said it has formally appealed the decision to cancel five agricultural leases on state trust land.

The appeal is the latest challenge to the cancellations.

AgTech's appeal challenged the legal basis for the cancellations and argues the state failed to follow the rules.

The company has been under the microscope in the last year after several locals expressed concerns about their biosolids operation, and question how it could potentially harm the community.

AgTech has defended it's operation, saying even the state has recognized the agricultural benefits of biosolids.

We'll continue to follow this story and provide you with the latest details as soon as they become available, and online at KYMA.com.
