Boys and Girls Club host “Denim and Diamonds” gala

BRAWLEY, Calif.- The Boys and Girls Club of Imperial County held its "Denim and Diamonds" gala at the Stockman's Club in Brawley on Friday night, featuring dinner and live and silent auctions.

Among the donated items up for auction were portrait sessions, gift baskets, jewelry and ride alongs with the police and fire departments.

The event is a fundraiser for the organization to invest in after-school and summer programs for children.

This comes as the Boys and Girls Club of Imperial County celebrates its 60th anniversary.

"All my grandchildren go there, so it's lots of fun. They have a good time. We have a brand-new teen center that just opened up, and so we're striving to keep that all moving forward and growing," Grace Edgar, President of the Boys and Girls Club of Imperial County told Channel 11.

The funds raised also support STEM programs, sports, and meals for children.
