Fiestas del Sol happening soon in Mexicali

MEXICALI, Mexico (KYMA) - The popular Fiestas del Sol is back in Mexicali beginning Friday, with this year marking the 50th anniversary of the fair.

One hundred officers will be assigned to provide security inside and outside the fair, and there will also be special security in the concert area to prevent overcrowding following past issues.

"We are preparing to receive a maximum of 13,000 people at the main stage," said Sandra Gonzalez, Fair Director. "We will be using a system to control access to the stage area, based on a QR code on your ticket that will be counted."
