Marine Corps Weapons & Tactics Instructor Course in full gear

Military aircraft will be filling the skies over Yuma as the Marine Corps' Weapons and Tactics Instructor, or WTI, course moves into its next phases.

The seven-week course is designed to prepare U.S. Marines for a variety of combat environments, using the Yuma desert as a training ground.

The course began with several weeks of academic training and will continue through October 25.

The aerial portion begins this weekend, with Marines conducting flight training over the Yuma area.

People interested in watching the training can also visit a designated viewing area at Kiwanis Park on October 5th.
