Tracking continued dry conditions to begin the week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A quiet and mostly dry stretch of weather is settling in across Yuma and Imperial Counties as we head into the new week.

Sunday will stay warm, with Yuma reaching around 102°F under partly sunny skies. El Centro will see a high near 101°F with partly sunny conditions as well.

Tonight, temperatures will drop into the upper 70s, with some clouds lingering before skies gradually clear.

Winds will stay generally light Sunday, with speeds around 5 to 10 miles per hour across both areas.

Monday will bring more sunshine, with highs around 101°F in Yuma and 100°F in El Centro. Overnight temperatures will fall into the lower 70s, with breezier night conditions possible in El Centro.

The cooler trend continues into Tuesday, with Yuma expected to reach around 99°F and El Centro around 98°F.

Overall, conditions will remain dry and quiet through the first half of the week, with temperatures staying a few degrees above normal but only minor heat impacts expected.

Looking ahead, moisture will begin returning to parts of Arizona later in the week, bringing increased rain chances mainly to higher elevations in northern and eastern Arizona.
