Mountain lion captured in a San Francisco neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO (NBC, KYMA) - Some San Francisco neighbors had an unexpected brush with wildlife Friday morning.

You can see officers scurry a mountain lion that ran out into the street.

The department of fish and wildlife says the big cat was shot with a tranquilizer dart but, briefly made a break for it.

Once the drug kicked in, officers were able to safely examine the animal.

They say it's male between two and three years old.

They placed a tracking collar on him and will return him to the wild.
