Journalists denied White House entry after Trump bans certain news outlets

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC, KYMA) - President Donald Trump appears to have followed through on his promise to ban several news media outlets from the White House.

CNN, MS Now and Politico said in separate statements that there reporters were turned away from the White House complex Saturday.

In some cases journalists also had their credentials confiscated.

On Friday the president said the ban was the result of the outlets' constant reporting' fake news, but he did not specify a particular news story.

MS Now said it intends to take any and all necessary steps to defend their first amendment rights, CNN and Politico echoed those sentiments.

Meanwhile, the White House declined to comment further today, and referred NBC news to President Trump's previous comments.
