Punk rock garage sale in South Dakota draws crowd

RAPID CITY, S.D. (CNN, KYMA) - Rapid City's first punk rock garage sale and record swap took over the labor temple over the weekend, packing the room with vinyl, vintage gear and fans.

Organizers said nearly all tables were claimed with vendors laying out records, band merch, clothes, collectibles, music gear and plenty of weird, wonderful finds dug out of closets and garages.

It's the first year for the event.

Money raised goes to support Friday meals, offering food and community for people who need a little extra help.

The punk rock garage sale organizer said he chose Friday meals because he thinks its a great charity to donate to.

Organizers hope the strong turnout means the punk rock garage sale will become a regular fixture.
