Shooting near the University of Louisville leaves two dead

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (NBC, KYMA) - In Kentucky, an overnight shooting on Saturday near the University of Louisville left two people dead.

City and university police responded to reports of shots fired at the Family Scholar House just before 2 a.m. Saturday night.

The building is located near the edge of Belknap campus and operates in partnership with University of Louisville.

At the scene they found two women who had been shot and they were both pronounced dead.

University officials confirmed neither of the victims was a student or an employee at the university.

Their identities are being withheld pending next of kin notifications.

At this time, no suspect is in custody and there is no active threat to campus.
