Home explosion in Kentucky leaves one person injured

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (NBC, KYMA) - A homeowner suffered severe burns and significant injuries after a house explosion Tuesday morning in Central City, Kentucky.

The person inside the home was transported to a regional trauma center in Nashville.

The severity of the blast caused damage to four nearby homes. Those residents impacted by the explosion are receiving assistance from red cross.

ATF is on the scene trying to figure out what caused the explosion.

Investigators are treating the scene as active and asking the public to avoid the area.
