Temperatures start to rise again

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - After a nearly three-week long extreme heat warning, temperatures finally dwindled down. Unfortunately, the Desert Southwest was hit with just about every other poor weather condition the region has to offer.

Now, temperatures are on the rise once more and an extreme heat warning is in place to start on Monday at 10 a.m. and run through 8 p.m. on Friday.

As for this weekend, temperatures are anticipated to drop into double digits before sunset. Humidity will be higher and is expected to be for Sunday, as well.

Your Sunday morning is coming in hot with triple-digit heat hitting between 9-10 a.m. Max conditions will roam around 110°F in the 3-4 p.m. time frame in both the Imperial Valley and Yuma County.

Wind gusts are trending to be nearly identical between tonight and Sunday night. Expect heavier gusts - upwards of 20 mph - to kick in around 6 p.m. Imperial County will carry these conditions through the night while the Yuma County breeze should ease off by 7:30 p.m. Sunday morning across the Desert Southwest will be light on the gusts.
