Disney sees best growth in two years

(CNN, KYMA) - Belt-tightening doesn't appear to be keeping visitors away from the House of Mouse.

Disney parks and cruises saw revenue in its last quarter jump 10% over the year before. That's Disney's strongest showing in two years.

Analysts say the company used a few targeted strategies to boost park attendance.

That came in the form of discounts aimed at very specific customers, like people with children three to nine-years-old.

The company also offered special perks for Disney+ subscribers at its resorts.

The spike in earnings comes at a time when other parks like SeaWorld and Busch Gardens saw their attendance drop.

Universal did well with its new Epic Universe, but that came at the expense of foot traffic at its older Florida parks.

Investors haven't rewarded Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro, who took over in March of this year, much.

The company's stock is up about 3% since then. However, it's still down more than 9% from the start of the year and 43% over the past five years.
