ICE officers to have body worn camera later this week

(NBC, KYMA) - All ICE officers and agents will have body worn cameras by Wednesday, a senior DHS official told NBC News.

They will then be trained on how to use the devices, and the senior official expects all of ICE law enforcement will be using the cameras by the end of August.

ICE officers and agents will be required to have the cameras on and recording whenever they are conduct operations and arrests.

The agency will withhold releasing footage to the public if doing so will interfere with an ongoing investigation or violate privacy concerns according to this official, unless the director of ICE makes an exception to the rule and orders the release.
