Four teens killed in crash following police chase in Chicago

CHICAGO (NBC, KYMA) - Four Chicago-area teens were killed early Monday morning in a crash as they attempted to run from police.

The chase began when officers tried to pull the truck over after receiving reports that someone inside the vehicle was pointing a gun at other motorists.

As they attempted to flee, their truck left the roadway while on a bridge, and slammed into the side of a train car.

Both Chicago Police and Illinois State Police were involved in the pursuit.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth died at the hospital.

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, their ages ranged from 14 to 19-years-old, and investigation into the incident is underway.
