San Diego Comic Con 2026 enters second day

SAN DIEGO (KYMA) - Friday marks the second day of San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2026, and News 11 is there News 11 is there to experience the fun.

More than 135,000 fans are expected over the four-day event, which generates an estimated $160 million in regional economic impact.

Organizers say Comic-Con features more than 1,000 exhibitors, over 2,000 hours of programming, and nearly half a million square feet of exhibit space, making it the world's largest convention dedicated to comics and popular arts.

For Friday's Comic Con events, Amazon previewed "Blade Runner 2099" and the upcoming season for "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" at Hall H.

Also in Hall H, AMC previewed "The Vampire Lestat" and the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead: Dead City," as well as DC Studios previewing "Lanterns," a Green Lantern TV show set in the DCU.

In addition, Amazon MGM Studios is showcasing "Spaceballs: The New One," which is premiering in theaters in April of 2027, at Hall H, with the cast and crew expected to be at the event.
