Healing Journey starts campaign to support local kids

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A local nonprofit in Yuma has started a campaign to support local kids.

The Healing Journey created the GoFundMe page "Building Strong Children" to fund kids programs and help families with their back to school needs.

Its goal is to raise more than $3,000.

"The children that we serve, some of them are from a single parent home, the grandparents are raising them, some of them are in foster care, so we want to make sure what they need to go back to school or just have the essentials other kids have," said Estrella Fitch, founder and CEO of The Healing Journey.

So far, it has raised $25. If anyone would like to donate to the GoFundMe, click here.
