Three Russian nationals indicted on cybercrime charges

CLEVELAND (NBC, KYMA) - Federal law enforcement officials held a press conference in Cleveland Tuesday where they announced indictments against three Russian nationals.

Included in the indictments were two companies that are accused of supporting and carrying out cyberattacks across the U.S. that cost tens of millions of dollars in losses.

Alexander Volosovik, Kirill Zatolokin and Yulia Pankova, all of St. Petersburg, Russia, are indicted on computer fraud, wire fraud and money laundering charges.

The two companies Media Land and ML Cloud were also included in the 75 page indictment.

A seven-year investigation uncovered those companies hosted cyber criminals that would launch ransomware and malware attacks.

The State Department is offering a reward of up to $10 million for any information on the whereabouts of those indicted.
