Padres, Dodgers drop series as NL West teams struggle Sunday

LOS ANGELES (KYMA) - The Arizona Diamondbacks may have come up short on Sunday, but they didn't lose any ground in the National League West standings as every team in the division suffered a loss.

The San Diego Padres fell 4-3 to the Texas Rangers, dropping their series in Arlington. Texas outfielder Wyatt Langford continued his strong weekend, launching a three-run home run early in the game.

San Diego answered with a three-run fourth inning to tie the contest, but the Rangers responded with the go-ahead run in the bottom half of the frame and held on for the victory.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers were overwhelmed by the Baltimore Orioles in a 12-1 defeat. Baltimore collected 15 hits and blasted four home runs as the Dodgers pitching staff struggled throughout the afternoon.

The loss secured a series defeat for Los Angeles after dropping consecutive games to the Orioles.

With every NL West team suffering a loss Sunday, the division standings remained unchanged.
