Tracking seasonably dry and warm conditions this weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The humidity that moved through the region earlier this week has faded, leaving behind seasonably warm and dry conditions that are expected to continue through the weekend and into next week.

While temperatures will remain in the triple digits, a slight cooldown compared to recent days will make for a more comfortable weekend across the Desert Southwest. Highs are expected to stay in the low-to-mid 100s through Father's Day, with plenty of sunshine and dry skies.

Highs in Yuma on Saturday are tracking 104°F. While Sunday is expected to reach 106°F. In the Imperial Valley, the high temperature on Saturday is also 104°F. While Sunday is expected to see a slight increase as well, tracking at a high of 107°F.

Winds this weekend will remain fairly calm throughout the days. Although, in the evening we are tracking some light gusts.

Saturday evening at around 7:30 p.m. we are tracking winds in the 9-12 mile per hour range in Yuma County. The Imperial Valley should expect wind speeds in the 19-23 mile per hour range.

By Sunday morning, around 8:00 a.m., those winds we calm down sitting in that 3-7 mile per hour range in Yuma County. While the Imperial Valley, is tracking winds in the 5-9 mile per hour range.

Sunday evening around 8:30 p.m., those winds will increase a bit once again. With Yuma County tracking winds in the 10-15 mile per hour range. The Imperial Valley should expect wind speeds to be in that 18-22 mile per hour range.

We are tracking an overall really nice Father's Day weekend. If you are going to be outside celebrating this weekend, be sure to practice those heat safety tips. Including staying hydrated and taking some regularly scheduled breaks in some shade and AC.
