Tracking heat, very dry, winds, and fire risks this weekend

Heading into the weekend, I am tracking more triple-digit heat, along with very dry conditions and stronger winds. This will lead to fire concerns. A Weather Authority First Alert Action Day is issued for Saturday due to winds, dry conditions, and fire risks.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Friday! It is another toasty day with triple-digit temperatures. Some areas could still climb near that 110 mark.

We are in for a warm and breezy evening ahead. We will have winds coming from the south with gusts 20-25 MPH. Temperatures will also be staying in the 90s at the start of the evening with clear skies.

Make sure to also grab a donut to celebrate National Donut Day!

The warm and dry weather will carry into the weekend, but we will be having stronger winds as a lower pressure system passes by toward the south.

Winds will pick-up this weekend as winds will be coming from the south/southwest and gusts between 20-35 MPH.

This weekend is also going to very dry as relative humidity is expected to be as low as 9%. This will bring elevated fire concerns for both Yuma and Laz Paz Counties.

Take a look at our relative humidity numbers heading into Saturday.

With the very dry conditions, and stronger winds, this will lead to fire concerns, which is why a RED FLAG WARNING is issued for Saturday for both Yuma and La Paz Counties.

With the fire risks we have in the area this weekend, remember wildfire safety, and be sure we are doing our part to not spark any unnecessary fires. Be safe this weekend!

We may see a few clouds this weekend, but no rain is expected. We are in for a warm, dry, and windy weekend.
