Tracking a continuing warming trend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Tuesday! I am tracking warmer temperatures this afternoon as highs will be in the low 100s. This is just slightly above-average for early June, so not too bad.

For the next 12 hours, that extra warmth will linger into the evening, as highs will be in the 90s until 9 p.m. Once the sun goes down, it will feel a little better. Overnight lows will cool down into the low 70s by tomorrow morning.

Tracking above-normal temperatures and dry conditions that will which will keep our temperatures warm, along with dry conditions this week.

An Air Quality Alert is issued for parts of Imperial County for Wednesday due to higher ozone and pollution levels. This will go into effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

This week we are in for a warm, sunny, and dry week as highs will be in the low 100s, which is slightly warmer than normal.

Tracking cooler temperatures and breezier conditions later this week.

This triple-digit heat will bring moderate heat risks to the Desert Southwest. So remember to practice heat safety throughout the day.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: It looks like we have some chances for our first tropical storm to develop in the Eastern Pacific in the coming days.
