Alcatraz ferry crashes into San Francisco pier

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS, KYMA) - Passengers on an Alcatraz tourist ferry were in for a wild ride after the vessel crashed into San Francisco's Pier 31 Sunday evening, shattering passenger windows, footage shows.

Genesis Alcocer captured video of the chaotic moment onboard the Alcatraz City Cruises ferry, with passengers screaming as glass shattered.

In the background, someone can be heard asking, "Did anyone get hurt?"

Alcocer told Storyful that the crash broke all the windows on the lower level of the boat, saying it was like "something from a movie."

"It was giving Titanic," she added on TIkTok.

According to ABC7, no injuries were reported.

In a statement sent to ABC7, Alcatraz City Cruises said: "On Sunday evening, an Alcatraz City Cruises vessel was involved in a docking incident upon return to Pier 31. There are no currently reported injuries, and an investigation of the incident will be conducted to determine its cause. Any impacts to service will be provided as additional information becomes available."

Storyful reached out for comment but had not heard back by the time of publication.
