PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Arizona Diamondbacks continued their strong stretch of play Sunday, closing out their series against the Colorado Rockies with a dominant 9-1 victory at Chase Field.

Arizona entered the matchup having won six of its last seven games and wasted no time keeping the momentum rolling.

The Diamondbacks jumped on the Rockies early in the first inning. Ketel Marte opened things up with a leadoff double before Corbin Carroll delivered an RBI triple to bring home the game's first run. Carroll showed off his speed on the play, cruising into third standing up.

Arizona's offense kept pouring it on in the second inning. With two runners in scoring position, Marte ripped a ground-rule double to drive in two more runs. The All-Star second baseman started the game 2-for-2 with two doubles as the Diamondbacks built a 5-0 lead.

Marte stayed productive later in the game, adding another RBI in the sixth inning with a blooper that plated his third run of the night. He finished with three hits and three RBIs.

Carroll matched Marte's big night at the plate. The outfielder recorded his fourth hit of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Collecting his second stand-up triple of the night while driving in Marte again.

Arizona finished with 13 hits on the game and never let Colorado back into the contest.

Diamondbacks starting pitcher, Ryne Nelson, turned in one of his best outings of the season. Tossing eight innings while allowing just one earned run late in his final frame.

With the win, the Diamondbacks improved to 8-2 over their last 10 games. As they continue trying to keep pace in the competitive National League West.
