Southern California woman’s Ring camera spots bear at their house

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A Southern California woman who heard a bear had been spotted in her neighborhood joked about wishing the bear came to their house, and just a few hours later, her wish came true.

The Ring camera notified the family that someone was at their front door. That someone: A large black bear, wandering up to their door.

It happened in Santa Clarita, California, north of Los Angeles.

The bear was spotted wandering in nearby Valencia Friday, and Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to several calls of bear sightings throughout the day.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reportedly told the sheriff's office they would monitor the bear, which has a tag and tracking collar.

The bear sighting follows several others in the foothills of Los Angeles County in recent weeks.
